The Number 1 activity for tourists in Nevis is limin', that is, doing nothing.  Just hanging out. Enjoying life.  Living one day at a time in paradise.  But there's so much more for you to do if you are so inclined.

Whether you are looking foward to just limin' at Pelican and reading a good book, taking ecological or historical tours, participating in adventure sports, lounging at the beach, cooking in or having fine dining out, you'll find Nevis welcoming, accomodating, and Pelican centrally located to the main activities.

Beaches:
Some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean are on Nevis.  All beaches on the island are public, so you can get to any of them.  The closest, Cliffdwellers Beach is about a hundred yard walk along the seaside and offers white sand beach and calm, shallow waters.

Oualie Beach is only about a mile away, and one of the nicest beaches on Nevis.  Here you can get good food and libations, and myriad watersports are also available.

Secluded Lovers Beach is just up the road, and is almost always completely deserted even though it stretches for almost a mile.  Shirley's offers food and good drink here.

Tamarind Bay, Cades Bay, and Ft Ashby beaches are also nearby, some within walking or swimming distance.

A five minute drive up the road brings you to Pinney's Beach, one of the most famous in the Caribbean, and rated one of the "Ten Sexiest Beaches in the World" by Conde Naste Traveller.

Snorkeling:
The best snorkeling in Nevis is reported to be just below Pelican.  Bring your gear.

Alternatively,
just head on up to Oualie Beach, less than 2 miles away.  There you will find Under The Sea, where Barbara Whitman will inform you of the sea life around Nevis, and then take you on a snorkeling trip to experience it first-hand.  Barbara even offers complete snorkeling gear including flotation jackets for neophyte and experienced divers alike.

Scuba:
Scuba diving around Nevis is underrated simply because it has never been marketed.  Scuba Safaris operates 3 dive boats and is both NAUI and PADI certified.  They are located just up at Oualie Beach, and will take you to one or more of the incredible dive sites around Nevis.

Watersports:
If you want to try your hand at windsurfing, then Winston Crooke is your man, and he'll either teach you how to windsurf, or send you on your way if you already know what you're doing.  He also has sea kayaks available for those who prefer to paddle - guided or not.

For those who like floating over the water, Nevis Parasailing will take you on a thrilling ride you will never forget.

Sailing:
Sailing adventures await with numerous boats available for charter.  Steve and Irene Macek will be happy to take you out on the Schooner Star for a delightful half or full day trip.  Les Windley has been chartering people for years in his 44' Jeanneau Sun Magic, offering drinks, stories, and the best snorkeling spots in Nevis.

Deep Sea Fishing:
Deep sea fishing charters are offered as well, where you can catch prize-winning mahi, wahoo, snapper and other game fish.

Hiking:

Exploring through hiking is a very popular Nevis activity, but it’s imperative to go with a guide if you head off the roads - one man was recently lost on the mountain for over a week. Jim and Nikki Johnson

A nice, relatively short walk in the jungle is available at Golden Rock Plantation. There is also a good chance you will see monkeys at Golden Rock and in this walk. You can also take a bit more strenuous walk up to “The Source” from here.

There are guides who can take you all the way to the top of the mountain. Be aware this is a strenuous climb.
